වෙසක් මල්[Wesak-Mal] (Dendrobium maccarthiae)

Rare endemic epiphyte occurs only in the Rathnapura jungles. Flowering from May to July. Hence the vernacular name Wesak mal (Wesak > Sinhalese name for the month of May and mal > flowers)

  1. Hi, can you please tell me if there is another flower which looks like the Wesak flower but leaves are healthy and succulent. I got a plant from a home in Kuruvita. But it is small and the leaves have a slight purple hue. Also the leaves are small and far apart. Scanty looking. Tell me if there are any significant features that are unique.
