An indigenous shrub or small tree found in margins of mist forests and undergrowth of secondary montane forests from 2000 to 2500 m elevations. It is found only in the
Horton Plains National Park (Nowhere else in
the
Sri Lanka) and the southern region of the
Western Ghats of
India
