Cordia monoica

An indigenous tree known from dry lowland forests and open areas. 

Black Sage (Varronia curassavica [Syn: Cordia curassavica])

An introduced shrub native to tropical America. Escaped and widely established as a common weed along roadsides, waste lands and open areas. It is said that Black Sage was first introduced to the Anuradapura Botanical garden which was existed near the  'Anuradapura Hotel?' (Alston , 1931) 

Coldenia procumbens

An indigenous prostrate and spreading herb common in dry sun-baked wastelands and dry margins of tanks of the dry zone. Flowering from July to September.

බූ කටු හැන්ද[Bu katu handa]Forget-me-not/Hound's tongue(Cynoglossum zeylanicum)

An indigenous herb occurs along roadsides and waste grounds in central highlands. Flowering from February to August.

* Both Cynoglossum furcatum Wall. and Cynoglossum zeylanicum Thunb. ex Lehm are now considered as synonyms of Cynoglossum zeylanicum (Vahl) Brand.

Heliotropium curassavicum

An introduced prostrate and spreading herb occurs along roadsides, wastelands and borders of the lagoons in dry areas. Common in Northern and Northwestern dry zone.

Euploca marifolia subsp. marifolia [Syn: Heliotropium scabrum]

A spreading or procumbent indigenous herb occurs along roadsides and wastelands of the dry zone.

A common and introduced annual herb of wastelands and roadsides of low country - especially in dry zone.
