Blumea zeylanica

An endemic tall herb of moist shady places at forest edges and roadsides above 1000 m a.s.l. Rather uncommon. Flowering throughout the year.

ගල් වෙරළු[Gal Veralu] (Elaeocarpus coriaceus)

An endemic shrub or small tree of the upper montane zone. Very common in and around Horton Plains National Park from 2220 to 2400 m a.s.l. But also grows as low as 1000 m a.s.l. Flowering from December to February. 

හුළංතලා/වල් තම්පලා[Hulantala/Wal tampala] (Gynura lycopersicifolia)

Common native herb of forest edges in moist places, generally above 5000 ft. Flowering throughout the year. 

Sonerila pumila

An endemic erect small herb. Rather common in the montane zone.

Psychotria zeylanica

An endemic shrub or small tree, very common in the moist forests of the Central hills, usually above 1500 m a.s.l. Flowering beginning during April-May and continuing into November-December. During October-November flowers and mature fruits can be seen simultaneously on some trees. 

Psychotria nigra

An indigenous shrub or small tree of moist forests of Central and Southern provinces to about 1000 m a.s.l. (variety nigra) and elevations over 800 m a.s.l.(Variety  coronata), Flowering September, November.

Osbeckia rubicunda

Rather common native shrub of grasslands, forests, forest edges and roadsides of the montane zone.

බොරළු[Boralu] (Vaccinium symplocifolium [Syn: Vaccinium leschenaultii])

An indigenous much-branched large shrub or small tree. Rather common in montane forests. Flowering February-March and September. 

Cyanotis lanceolata [Syn: Cyanotis racemosa]

An indigenous herb grows in shade of forests, near streams and waterfalls, roadsides, banks and footpaths, mainly in high altitudes from (450-) 1100 to to 2400 m a.s.l. Flowering from September to November and January to April.

Actinodaphne elegans

An endemic tree of moist montane forests and Sinharaja. Rather uncommon.

Achyranthes bidentata

An uncommon native herb of shady places among grass in the lower montane zone. 

ගැට බදුල්ල [Geta Badulla]/]Marking-nut tree (Semecarpus nigroviridis)

An indigenous tree of moist low country, extending to the dry zone and montane zone up to about 1000 m. Flowering from February to April and fruiting from July to August.

Plectranthus gardneri

An endemic herb locally common in dense shaded places of montane forests above 1450 m a.s.l. often close to streams or watercourses. Flowering throughout the year. 

මහ අක්මැල්ල[Maha Akmella]/Toothache plant (Acmella calva [Spilanthes calva])

An indigenous herb common in the moist boggy grounds at the margins of pools in the montane zone. Flowering from February to March.

මල ලබු [Mala Labu](Piper umbellatum [Syn: Lepianthes umbellatum])

An introduced large herb native to Tropical America. Naturalized in shady places of disturbed and secondary forests.

Show Poppy (Eomecon chionantha)

An introduced herb native to the Eastern China. Escaped from cultivation and naturalized in shady places of the hill country. 

ශ්‍රී ලංකා සිතැසියා/ලංකා මල් කුරුල්ලා(Zosterops ceylonensis)

කඳුකරයේ මධ්‍යම උස් මට්ටමේ සිට ඉහල කඳුකරය දක්වා වනාන්තර සහ මනාව ගස් කොළන් සහිත වෙනත් එවැනි ස්ථාන සහ ගෙවතු වලද සුලභ මෙරටට ආවේනික කුරුල්ලෙකි ලංකා මල් කුරුල්ලා හෙවත් ශ්‍රී ලංකා  සිතැසියා. තවද සිංහරාජ වනාන්තරය වැනි පහත රට වනාන්තර වලද සීමිත ව්‍යාප්තියක් සහිතව හමුවේ. තරමක් විශාල රංචු වශයෙන් ආහාර සොයා යන සිතැසියන් ගස් වල කොළ අතු අතර සලබයන්, දලඹුවන් වැනි කුඩා කෘමීන් සහ මල් පැණි සොයමින් ඇතැම්විට වෙනත් කුරුළු විශේෂ සමගද එක්වී ගමන් කරයි. එහෙත් අභිජනන සමයේදී ජෝඩු වශයෙන් එකතු වූ කුරුල්ලන් දැකිය හැකි අතර වසරේ මාර්තු සිට මැයි දක්වාත්, නැවතත් අගෝස්තු සිට සැප්තැම්බර් දක්වාත් අභිජනනය සිදු කරයි. ශ්‍රී ලංකා සිතැසියා ගසක පහල අතු අතර එල්ලෙන කෝප්පයක හැඩය සහිත කූඩුවක ලා නිල් පැහැති බිත්තර දෙකක් දමයි.

An endemic large shrub or small tree very common in the montane zone from 1000 to 2300 m elevations. 

Shamrock pea (Parochetus communis)

An indigenous, creeping or sometime twining herb rather common in damp or wet soil among other low plants at higher hills of Central and Uva provinces.

Ranunculus wallichianus

An indigenous herb grows among low herbs in damp more or less shady places such as along forest tracks in the upper montane zone. Flowering from April to October.
