ගල් වෙරළු (Elaeocarpus glandulifer)

 An endemic tree common in lower montane zone from 1000 to 2000 m elevations. Flowering from September to March and fruiting from June to December.

Elephant's Ears (Actinodaphne speciosa)

 An endemic tree common in upper montane zone from  1500 to 2500 m elevations.

Robiquetia virescens

An endemic epiphyte on branches of trees in sub montane to montane wet evergreen forests up to 2150 m elevations. 

Flower Size: 4mm across and 1.2 cm long

Ardisia gardneri

 
An endemic shrub or small tree common in lower montane forests of the wet zone up to about 1500 m elevations. Flowering and fruiting from December to May.

Cyanotis ceylanica

 An endemic decumbent perennial in shade or partial shade of forest floor and near streams from 750 to 1220 m elevations.

වල් ජම්බු/ජම්බු (Syzygium amphoraecarpus)

An endemic medium-sized tree common in Southwestern Sri Lanka including the Knuckles from sea level to about 1500 m altitudes in wet and intermediate zones. 

Emilia baldwinii

 An endemic herb rather common along the shores on south and west coast, usually on sand. Rarely on rocks just behind the seashore. 

දික්වැන්න/දික් ඇන්ද[Dikwenna/Dikandhe] (Pityranthe verrucosa [Syn: Diplodiscus verrucosus])

 An endemic tree locally very common in the dry monsoon forests.

Flower Size: 1.2 cm across

Lasianthus chrysocaulis

 An endemic shrub of montane shrubberies. 

Phyllanthus sp.

 An endemic or indigenous subshrub occurs above 900 m elevations in the Knuckles range. Rather similar to the Phyllanthus baillonianus but with cream-white flowers. Probably an addition to the flora of Sri Lanka, first recorded in Vlas de J., 2019 with only male flowers (Female flowers are also shown here).

Bulbophyllum trimenii

An endemic epiphyte rare on trees of mid country to montane forests above 762 m elevations. 

ගිනි හොට [Gini hota]/Tree fern (Alsophila walkerae [Syn: Cyathea walkerae])

 An endemic tree fern of stream sides in primary and secondary lowland to montane forests and scrublands from 60 to 1525 m or more elevations.

Sarcococca zeylanica

 An endemic shrub or small tree occurs along stream sides, clearings and roadsides in secondary forests from 700 to 1850 m elevations.  

ගොඩපර[Godapara] (Dillenia retusa)

An endemic tree grows in primary rain forests, on streams and river banks and occasionally in secondary forests of the wet zone from sea level to about 450 m a.s.l. Flowering throughout the year. Wood used to make furniture and in light construction. Fruit medicinal. 

Eurya ceylanica

 An endemic shrub common in the wet montane forests. Flowering and fruiting throughout the year. 

Flower size - 0.3-0.5 cm across

Impatiens thwaitesii

An endemic slender herb of shady damp banks and riverside rocks in the sub montane forests from 350 to 900 m elevations. Rather rare.

 An endemic tree very common in upper montane zone from 1500 to 2500 m elevations. 

Hedyotis plantaginifolia[Syn: Hedyotis verticillaris subsp. plantaginifolia & Pleiocraterium plantaginifolium]

 

An endemic tussock-forming herb common in Patana and wet marshy grasslands above 1800 m elevations.

Semecarpus marginatus

 An endemic unbranched shrub or small treelet of the wet zone forests. 

Emilia speeseae

An endemic rather weedy herb  grows at fairly high elevations.
