Cyphostemma setosum

 An indigenous herbaceous scrambler of open sandy vegetations, usually near the coast including salt flats but not on dunes.

 An endemic liana rather common in forest edges and clearings in the lower montane zone. Flowering all the year round.

An indigenous liana grows in forest edges, river banks and roadsides up to 1000 m elevations. Flowering from August to June.

Common native liana climbing in trees and shrubs of the dry lowlands. Flowering recorded from all months excepts May.

Common native liane of forest edges, roadsides and hedgerows in wet and intermediate zones, usually at low altitudes. Flowering from July to January. 

වල් රත් දිය ලබු[Wal rat diya labu]/Threeleaf cayratia (Causonis trifolia [Syn: Cayratia trifolia])

Native liana occurs open vegetation in the lowlands, often near the coast behind the mangroves, in hedges and on waste lands. Flowering from June to November. 

හී‍රැස්ස[Hirassa]/Veldt grape (Cissus quadrangularis)

An indigenous succulent liana very common, especially near the seacoast in the dry zone scrublands. Flowering from August to June. Green stems are edible. Extract of the stem and roots are used in traditional medicine. 

බුරුල්ල/ගුරුල්ල[Burulla/Gurulla]/Bandicoot berry (Leea indica)

Common indigenous shrub or small tree occurs in lower elevations of both wet and dry zones. Flowering from October to March.
