An endemic medium-sized tree common in Southwestern Sri Lanka including the Knuckles from sea level to about 1500 m altitudes in wet and intermediate zones.

Eugenia sp.

 An Eugenia species with almost sessile flowers. A shrub probably endemic to the Sri Lanka (or indigenous). An addition to the flora of Sri Lanka, first recorded in Vlas de J., 2019 from Knuckles range.

තැඹිලිය [Tembiliya](Eugenia roxburghii [Syn: Eugenia bracteata])

 
An indigenous shrub or small tree of forests and scrub lands in the dry and intermediate zones especially near the coast. Often abundant in the secondary vegetation including fire-climax savanna. Occasionally also occurs in the coastal areas of the wet zone.

මාදන්/මහ දන්[Madan/Mahadan]/Black Plum/Java Plum/Jamuna Tree/Indian Blackberry/Jambola (Syzygium cumini)

Native large shrub or tree common in the dry zone, especially along margin of streams and tanks. Also grows in northern sand dunes, where it plays a major part in anchoring the sands and stabilizing dune ridges. Flowering from May to August. Timber used in construction and fruit edible.  Bark and fruits are used in the traditional medicine.

කරාබු නැටි[Karabu nati]Clove (Syzygium aromaticum)

An introduced tree native to the Moluccas. Cultivated in intermediate to wet zone home gardens. Buds including the calyx tube are the cloves of commerce, a spice. Also use in traditional medicine. Widely cultivated in the intermediate zone north of Kandy.
