Epiphytic or terrestrial shrub or small tree occurs in and along both primary and secondary forest edges from sea level to about 1500 m a.s.l. or more.
It has been reported from some areas of Nuwaraeliya district such as Ramboda, Hamguranketha, Pundaluoya etc. So there is a possibility of growing it in Hakgala as well. I photographed this at Rajagala mountain in the Ampara district.
I saw a plant similar to this in Hakgala strict nature reserve. Is this plant grows in Hakhala area? Where was this photographs taken?
