Queen of flowering trees/Pride of Burma (Amherstia nobilis)

Myanmar
(Former
Burma)
. Introduced to the
Peradeniya
botanical garden in 1860 and since then it has been cultivated as an ornamental tree. The
Queen of flowering trees
is now extinct in the wild.
