An endemic shrub frog found only in the higher hills from 1850 to 2300 m elevations. It is recorded from forest borders of Horton Plains National Park, Ambewela and Pattipola. It can be observed on leaf litter of the forest floor, moss and fern covered rocks and among Strobilanthus roots and other moss covered roots of large trees. Horton Plains Shrub Frog is active during both the day and night.
