Mexican fireweed/Lesser green poinsettia (Euphorbia heterophylla)


An introduced very common weed widely distributed throughout the island along roadsides and waste places. It is a native plant of tropical America.

    Comment added by Pradeep Suranga in 'වනස්‌පති' facebook group on this post revealed the Sinhalese names used for it by our folks in some areas - "වල් රබර්. සමහර පැතිවල කැපුම්කිරිය කියලත් කියනවා.....ගෙඩියේ හැඩය හේතුවෙන්න ඇති ඒ නම වැටෙන්න.".
