Leafless endemic herb, parasitic on roots of mainly Acanthaceae and bamboo species. It occurs in lower montane forests up to about 1550 m a.s.l in Mathale, Kandy, Rathnapura and Nuwaraeliya districts.

  1. First I saw this flower in a Ohiya area in year 2002, and I was wondering what it is. Today only got to know that it is a parasitic plant form your blog. Thank u verymuch for sharing the information...

    1. There are 5 more Christisonia species and chances are there that your plant may be one of them. If you have a picture of it we can look into.
