වල් දුම්කොළ [Wal Dumkola](Sonchus wightianus)

Common weed of roadsides and in the mortar of bridges and road embankments in the lower montane zone. Flowering from January to June and probably throughout the year. Possibly a native herb of Sri Lanka since it is falling within the natural distribution range of the species. But in absence of specimens of it earlier than 1915 Sonchus wightianus also considered as an introduced species which is native to India and China (http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:250399-1)
