Very rare but regular winter migrant to tidal mudflats, shores, lagoons and salt-pans of the dry zone coastal areas. During its stay in the island Common Ringed Plover lives as solitary birds or as scattered flocks with other small waders. It breeds in Northern Eurasia and Northeastern part of the North America.
